The Government has recently announced changes to how long you must wait to retake your driving test after a failed one. Under new proposals, learners must wait more than 10 days to retake their driving test. Due to the huge backlog of learner drivers waiting to take their driving test, plans are in place to increase the ten-day waiting time to 4 weeks or 28 days. The hope is this will allow other new driving tests for new beginner drivers that have undertake the requirements to be able to book a driving test and cut the 3-6 month waits. This is also inline with the new campaign "ARE YOU READY". Trying to insure that new drivers are ready to pass thier driving test and make sure that driving test bookings are not being wasted on people that are simply "NOT READY"! ARE YOU READY? Amazingly less than 1 in 2 drivers pass their driving test the first time. This either means the driving instructor is bad at assessing whether the student is ready to take their driving test or that the student is overconfident in their own motoring ability.
