Are you Ready to Pass YOUR DRIVING TEST?
Answer: Amazingly less than 1 in 2 drivers pass their driving test the first time. This either means the driving instructor is bad at assessing whether the student is ready to take their driving test or that the student is overconfident in their own motoring ability. Here at Pass Mee Driving School we know that other factors such as driver and test nerves as well as mitigating circumstances such as an unfamiliar vehicle can explain a proportion of these failures.

Do i need P plates on my car after I have passed my driving test?
Answer: No you don't need to have green P-Plates (probationary) on your car after you have passed your driving test.
You are not required by the Highway code. or law
However this is considered good practice for new drivers and you can keep them on for as long as you want. But like L-Plates they must be displayed in such a way as to not hinder your registration or view from front and rear windscreen.

Do I need to display L-plates whilst I'm learning to drive?
Answer: Yes it is a legal requirement by law and it must be displayed on the front and rear of the car.
You can get 6 points on your licence for failure to display L-plates.
It is worth noting that a new driver who gets 6 or more points, during their first 2 years after passing their driving test, will have their licence revoked.
Likewise, if you are not a learner driver you should not display L plates on your car unless it is a driving school / instructor vehicle.
Normally you need 12 points to get your driving licenced revoked.

Can waving or flashing my headlights lead to me failing my driving test?
Simply put yes, if you are deemed not to be incontrol of your car by taking one hand off the wheel. Flashing headlights for any other reason than to alert other roadusers that you are there is also against the Highway Code.
Should I learn to drive in an automatic or manual car?
Answer: An automatic car is gererally easirer to drive and requires fewer lessons to pass. However, if you pass your driving test in an automatic car you can not then drive a manual car in the future.
The Future: All new electric cars are automatic but much more expensive so the choice is yours.
Who is the better driver?: It is argued that manual drivers are better drivers as they have multiple things to do whilst driving, hence why they are allowed to subsequently drive automatics under their licence.
Cheaper: Manual driving lessons are generally cheaper than automatic cars as automatic drivers require, in general, fewer lessons to pass their driving test.
